It’s not everyday you get to meet two great big African elephants and even get to feed them a few treats! Bayete Zulu is situated in a Big 5 reserve and is home to two rescued elephants, Rambo and Rachel, who of their own free will, make their way up to the Boma for some mid-morning treats where they will graciously allow humans to take photo’s and ooh and ahh over them.

This is truly a unique safari experience which we follow up with a game drive through the big 5, Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve where rhino, hippo and other big game can be spotted as well as lion, cheetah and leopard!

    Elephant Interaction Itinerary

    • We’ll collect you from your accommodation in the Durban or surrounding areas at 7am.
    • We head north for 3 hours to Bayete Zulu, along the way your guide will chat to you about the history of Durban, tell you about the traditions and culture of the Zulu people, and of course point out sites of interest along the way.
    • On arrival at Bayete Zulu you will get get to enjoy and amazing hour with these gentle gients learning more about them and getting a picture alongside them.
    • You then will head to the Hluhlawe Imfolozi Game Reserve for a 3 hour game drive with a stop for a light lunch.
    • You arrive back in Durban at around 6pm.
