Our family safari tour packages are perfect for families of all sizes. We don’t mix groups and each family gets their own guide from beginning to end of your tour. The vehicles we use are larger than the usual sedans which means space to move about in.
Depending on the ages of children, there are often discounted rates which makes safari’s even more affordable for you.
Activities for Families
Safari Parks
The Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve is one of the best game reserves to enjoy a safari with family. Although not the biggest game reserve in South Africa, it is only slightly smaller than the city of Paris. The benefit is that there is a lot to see in a relatively smaller area – and there are loads of places to stop and stretch legs.
There are lots of picnic sites to stop at where kids of all ages can explore the various “noonoo’s” (insects) and learn more about nature and why conservation is so important.
Nature Reserves
Many of the nature reserves we travel too have antelope which allows for interesting and exciting walks through the bush. Children especially enjoy the experience of watching small antelope like bushbuck, duiker and others while out in nature.
Animal Experiences
Learning about the animals of Africa first hand is what leads to a healthy view of conservation. On our tours we offer an opportunity for kids to experience first hand elephant and wild cats; cheetah, caracal, serval and african wild cat.
Outdoor Experiences
There’s so much to do in Durban for both adults and kids alike, and thanks to the mostly sunny and warm temperatures, being outdoors is both popular and of course healthy.
Get some exercise and fun with the family by learning to surf on Durban’s beaches, or book a hours SUP in either the sheltered waterways or along the guarded shoal – you;ll either be enjoying the company of juvenile fish in the waterways or curious dolphins on the beach!
Travel south of Durban a bit and you’ll be able to zipline with the whole family, or book a Segway tour among the grazing wildlife, or maybe just enjoy a braai (barbecue) lunch while curious monkeys look on.
